THE TORAH PERSPECTIVE on ALIYAH
IT’S NOT JUST AN OPPORTUNITY.
IT’S A MITZVAH!
Have you ever considered living your life in Eretz Yisrael? Aliyah is a reality in our generation as it has never been before.
Bring Them Home is an outreach project to educate the religious community about the Torah perspective on living in the Biblical Land of Israel today.
The Bring Them Home video library shares the viewpoints of respected rabbanim and educators in both America and Israel. We provide a range of practical halachic and hashkafic resources that can help you explore aliyah as fulfillment of the Torah commandment of living in the Land of Israel.

Rabbi Dr. Avraham Twersky Shlita
describes how it is a privilege to live here and that the first mitzva given to a Jew was “Lech Lecha”, devoted to Eretz Yisrael. “You have an opportunity to have a wonderful mitzva of Yishuv Eretz Yisrael, which many of the sefarim say is the greatest of all of the 613 mitzvos. Think of what Moshe Rabbeinu would have given to set one foot into the Holy Land. To come here alive, instead of only to be buried, is something that we should all look forward to.”

Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kook was once asked from where he got this deep desire to live in Israel. “It’s simple. The Chumash,” he responded. Starting from parshas Lech Lecha onwards it’s all about Eretz Yisrael. Israel is the main location of shmiras hamitzvos. Living in Eretz Yisrael is a fulfillment of a Biblical obligation and the rav adds “It’s also a wonderful county to live in… it should be on everyone’s mind.” Admittedly, we need leaders in chutz laaretz, but others “who have a reasonable possibility of living in Eretz Yisrael should really consider it. It’s a significant mitzvah.”
